Most containers were chosen for portability and functionality. PET Plastic was the most practical choice. However, even though PET Plastic is the most frequently recycled plastic, it takes a great deal more energy to produce than glass. And, if for some reason, it does not find its way to the recycling bin, it will remain forever in the landfill because it simply does not decompose.

In fact, even though there are times that it is handy for our personal care items to be portable (travel, etc.), most of us purchase skin care products and use them from a countertop or drawer in our homes.

For this reason, I provide an Earth Friendly alternative that does NOT sacrifice functionality by substituting Amber or Clear glass whenever possible. My intent is to phase out our plastic containers as we deplete our supply.

My products have always been made using natural ingredients. But for the reasons below, I have shifted to certified Organic ingredients:

• Quality. With so many concerns about GMO's and pesticides, buying Organic gives you confidence that you are doing the best you can to care for yourself and your family. With Organic products, you know that there is an industry out there dedicating itself to giving you the best product possible.
• Support. You speak with your dollars. When you buy Organic, you are supporting an industry that has made the quality of your products their number one priority.
• Change. Many of us are concerned about things we see happening in the world from the war in Iraq to DTC (Direct To Consumer) television advertising by Pharmaceutical Companies. When you put your energy behind something that is supporting our planet, you help to facilitate a kinder, gentler existence.

When you buy from local suppliers, transportation costs are reduced or eliminated and you are supporting the local economy. I make every effort to purchase supplies from people I know...people I can look in the eye and who operate with a sense of integrity and responsibility. Essential oils and carrier oils are often imported. However, the companies that strive to bring us the best Organic supplies from these sources are often located in your own state! Then a simple bottle of lotion is supporting not only the local community but the diligent organic growers worldwide! By helping each other, we can build something positive and enduring.

To support our local community, Creating Harmony offers Free Home Delivery for orders in the city limits of Bloomington, Indiana. To conserve fuel, deliveries will be made once a week.

Shipments are packaged in recyled packing material. Shipping boxes are re-used whenever possible. I will occasionally pack using normal peanuts to re-use packing material when necessary. I urge you to re-use it again! Each item is wrapped in its own airtight bag to contain accidental leaking or breakage. Glass items may be wrapped in bubble wrap but only if that wrap has been recycled from another shipment--I don't like to put it in the landfill but I NEVER buy it!

Sometimes your Earth Friendly practices include helping others who are doing the work in a different way.

• Heifer International. Creating Harmony donates profits during the Holiday Season (month of December) to Heifer International, an organization that helps people in developing countries move toward self-reliance. From a gaggle of geese to a hive of bees, you'd be surprised at the difference a gift animal can make in the life of a struggling family. Visit my store on World of Good where a portion of most sales is donated to Heifer.
• Environmental Working Group. The mission of the Environmental Working Group (EWG) is to use the power of public information to protect public health and the environment. EWG is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, founded in 1993.

The work environment is painted using BioShield clay paint or Low- or Zero-VOC (Volatile Organic Compounds) paint as recommended by a local green business Rogue Renovation. And the company car is a Toyota Prius that gets 45 mpg and is great fun to drive!

Essential oils are volatile meaning they can degrade with time like all things from nature. For that reason each item is scented and packaged when the order is received to ensure it is as fresh as possible. This is a luxury that is only available when you order handmade skincare. So please allow a little extra time when placing your order.

Orders may be paid by VISA, MASTERCARD, PAYPAL or personal check.

Visa/MasterCard: Credit cards are not actually charged until the order ships. I make every effort to estimate the shipping charges, but not until the final order is actually packaged can I determine actual shipping costs. This also means that you can change your order anytime prior to shipping.

PayPal: For PayPal orders, if actual shipping charges exceed the estimate given when ordering, an additional invoice will be submitted to cover the excess before the item is shipped.

Personal Check/Money Order: Payment may be made by mailing a money order or personal check. Please wait until you receive a final invoice including the actual shipping charges before sending your check. Your order will be mailed when your check clears the bank.

An attempt is made to estimate shipping when the order is placed, but final charges are not determined until the order is packaged.

US Orders: I charge only the ACTUAL SHIPPING CHARGES for all US orders. Shipping is normally done by United States Postal Service Priority Mail. Flat Rate Priorty Mail will be used to reduce shipping costs for large orders. Email notification is sent when order ships and delivery will be made 3-5 days following notification. Faster shipping options are available.

International Orders: There is a $5 handling charge for International orders. Shipping is normally done by United States Postal Service Global Priority Mail or Global Express Mail.

Any item may be returned for a FULL CASH REFUND within 30 days of purchase. I even pay for shipping the item back!
